Installing a New System: It’s All About the Design!
So it’s time to replace your heating and/or air conditioning system. Or maybe it’s time to add an air conditioner, maybe a split system for your room addition. Whatever the situation, the decisions that need to be made can be overwhelming. We want to help you understand not only the system, but the process itself and the services that Clark Heating & Cooling deliver that will make this process less daunting.
A quality installation begins with a professional design
Unfortunately, some contractors merely size a new system based on the old system’s capacity rather than asking the right questions. What if your home’s heating and cooling needs have changed since the last system was installed many years ago? What if the original system was not sized properly to begin with? Guesswork can lead to under-sizing your new system which can reduce the comfort of your home. Even worse, over-sizing will add unnecessary expense to the job’s cost and may contribute to moisture-related problems down the line and heat exchanger failures. Our technicians are trained to know what size system is required for your home. Rest assured, we’ve got you covered. Year-round, comfort is the goal. In the summer, your air conditioning system not only cools your home’s air (sensible cooling), it removes moisture (latent cooling). In the winter, your heating system must keep you comfortable without causing high utility bills.
Selecting the right equipment
Don’t feel too overwhelmed, our technicians can help explain the systems we offer and why one system would work better for your home’s layout than another. They’re not trained in sales presentations and pressure. They are there to pass along information, educate and inform. It’s important that the equipment selected is COMPATIBLE with your home’s heating and cooling needs as well as family’s comfort needs. It’s not about just “good” “better” “best” these days.
Don’t forget about your home’s duct system
Properly installed and maintained duct work can last twenty years and more. But time, heat and humidity can degrade your duct’s insulation. Over the years, your ducts may have collected contaminates that should be removed. If you’ve noticed uneven temperature and comfort distribution throughout your home, be sure and mention it to our service technician. They can evaluate the duct system. Some company’s may use scare tactics and recommend ductwork when all you need are dampers or possibly a duct cleaning from a reputable company.
Keep in mind, you may not get the full benefit of your new heating and/or air conditioning system if your ducts need repaired, replaced or cleaned.
Selecting the right contractor is key
Buying a new heating and/or air conditioning system is a major decision – ranking just behind paying for your home, your cars and your children’s college education. Selecting the right contractor to design and install your new system is essential. After all, homeowners only buy new heating and air conditioning systems once every ten or twenty years…maybe longer. Making sure your new system is designed and installed professionally is crucial to ensuring your home’s comfort for many years to come.
